The refineries of ORLEN Unipetrol RPA are among the leading Czech producers of petrochemical and agrochemical raw materials, also referred to in the abbreviation “RPA” meaning: “refinery, petrochemistry, agrochemistry”. Main products of the company available in the Czech market and worldwide are engine oils, engine fuels, asphalts, liquefied products made of crude oil, hydrogenated oils, other refinery products, olefins and aromatic compounds, agrochemical products, carbon products and absorbents, and polyolefins (high density polyethylene, polypropylene).
ORLEN Unipetrol RPA, s.r.o. was established on January 1, 2007 by merging CHEMOPETROL, a.s. and ORLEN UNIPETROL RAFINÉRIE a.s. On August 1, 2007 ORLEN Unipetrol RPA limited liability company was formed as the legal successor of the above two companies.
When the merger happened a new management model was introduced and gradually implemented at the member companies of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group. The main objective was decrease the complexity of product flows and better leverage existing synergies. Another aspect of the merger was increasing the sales efficiency of the company’s own products. Finally, this change enabled better control of the entire production process and supply chain from purchasing crude oil to providing customer care. Single compact entity was created making simpler and more transparent the organizational, human resource, administrative and logistics operations of the company.
